The Nonprofit sector is growing at a very fast rite there is a lot of money in the nonprofit sector. Today I will show you why the nonprofit sector is growing.

The nonprofit sector has been growing steadily, both in size and financial impact, for more than a decade.  Between 2001 and 2011, the number of nonprofits has increased 25 percent; from 1,259,764 million to 1,574,674 million today.  The growth rate of the nonprofit sector has surpassed the rate of both the business and government sectors. In 2010, nonprofits contributed products and services that added $779 billion to the nation’s gross domestic product; 5.4 percent of GDP.  Nonprofits are also a major employer, accounting for 9 percent of the economy’s wages, and over 10 percent of jobs in 2009. But, as nonprofits face devastating recession-driven revenue shortages and projected budget shortfalls from many state and local governments, this could reverse the trend as donors cut back, contracts are cancelled, and foundation endowments shrink. Reason To Join A Nonprofit

There are lots of good reason to join Nonprofit organizations there could be personal reason like you want to help people because of what you have been though in your personal life. Also, if you just want to try something new in life then you really come to like it. Joining a nonprofit organization takes a lot of time and also it can interfere with your personal time but if you love it that will keep you staying with the organization. Today I will give you some advantages and disadvantages of joining a nonprofit organization.

I will start off with the bad the disadvantages and those consist of.

Disadvantages

1.) Loss of centralized control by founder

2.) Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork
          - Annual forms, budgets, audits, tax reports, board meeting agendas, minutes and reports, proposals

3.) Expense in money and time: corporate bank
           - Accounts, expense reports, tax returns
